Obsession Spell: The Story of Dana, Marcus, and a Love That Had Gone Lukewarm
Dana's first message arrived on a Sunday night, a little after eleven. It was long, and halfway through it she apologized for how long it was. (Dana isn't her real name. Her story is a blend of several clients whose situations were close enough to tell as one.)
She and Marcus had been seeing each other for almost a year. Nothing was wrong, exactly. He still showed up. He still texted good morning. But the man who used to drive forty minutes on a weeknight just to split a bowl of ramen with her now said "we'll see" when she asked about the weekend. She'd bought a dress for his cousin's wedding in June, and he still hadn't asked her to go.
"I don't want to force him into anything," she wrote. "I just want him to feel about me the way he did in the beginning. Is that what an obsession spell does? Or is that a terrible idea?"
I liked her immediately for asking that last question.
What we talked about first
Before I agreed to cast anything, Dana and I went back and forth for a couple of days. I wanted to know what was really there between them, because an obsession spell works with existing feeling. It doesn't invent it out of nothing.
So I asked about the good parts. She told me Marcus still saved the last bite of dessert for her without thinking about it. He still called his mom on speaker when Dana was around, which she took as a sign he wanted her in his life. When she'd had the flu in February, he'd shown up with soup and a stack of terrible movies and stayed two days.
That told me a lot. This wasn't a man who didn't care. It was a man who'd gotten comfortable, and maybe a little distracted by a new job that was eating his evenings.
I also asked a harder question. Did she feel safe with him? Had he ever made her feel small or scared? She said no, never, and she seemed almost surprised I'd asked. I ask everyone. An obsession spell is meant to deepen desire and devotion where there's already a real connection. It isn't for feeding an unhealthy fixation on someone who doesn't want you, and it's never something I'd cast to keep anyone tied to a person who's harmful to them.
Dana's situation was the kind I can actually help with.
Because she was still a little unsure what Marcus was feeling underneath the busyness, I suggested she start with a love psychic reading. Readings and spells work well together, and in her case it made sense to look before we leaped. The reading showed a lot of warmth still there on his side, along with a heavy cloud of stress and a habit of putting things off. Nothing pointed to another woman. Nothing pointed to him wanting out.
So we went ahead with the obsession spell.
The weeks after the casting
I cast for Dana on a Thursday. When I do this work, I'm focusing on the energy between two people, drawing his attention back toward her and turning up the desire and devotion that were already there but had gone quiet. I told her what I tell everyone: give it room, don't go looking for proof every hour, and get on with your life.
She did better at that than most people. She went to her book club. She took her sister to a concert. She didn't send Marcus long messages asking where they stood.
The first thing she noticed, about ten days in, was small. Marcus called on his lunch break just to tell her about a guy at work who'd brought a live parrot into the office. He hadn't called her in the middle of a workday in months. She told me about it like it was nothing, but I could tell she'd read the message three times.
A few days later he asked whether she was still free on the 14th of June.
Over the next month or so, she described a slow shift. He was texting more, and not just logistics. He started planning things again, like a weekend at a lake house his friend had offered and dinner at a place she'd mentioned once in passing back in October. One night he told her, a little awkwardly, that he'd been "kind of in his own head" lately and was sorry if she'd felt it.
I want to be careful here, because timing is different for everyone. As a rough guide only, people often notice small changes within a few weeks, and deeper shifts can take a month or two or longer. Dana's timeline was hers. Yours will be yours.
She also decided to add a strong love spell about a month in, to support the romantic side and the sense of real partnership they were rebuilding. That's something a lot of my clients do. An obsession spell and a strong love spell sit well side by side. One turns up the desire, and the other strengthens the love underneath it.
The last message I got from her was a photo of the dress, still on its hanger, with a caption that just said "He asked."
Dana's story went the way she hoped. Not every story does, and I'd be lying if I let you think otherwise.
An obsession spell can't make someone love you who has no feeling for you at all. It can't override free will, and it doesn't trap anyone. If Marcus had truly been done, no amount of energy would have changed that, and I'd have told Dana so after the reading. What it can do is take a real connection that's gone lukewarm and bring the heat back.
People often ask me whether obsession spells are safe. When the work is done ethically, with real feeling on both sides and no intention to harm or control, I believe they are. The danger is in the word "obsession" being taken literally, as if the goal is to make someone unable to think about anything else. That isn't love, and it isn't what I do.
People also ask "do obsession spells work?" or search for a "make him obsessed with me spell" late at night. In my experience, they work best in situations like Dana's, where the love is there but the attention has drifted. If you're further along and he's already gone, the return to me spell is usually the better fit, and it can be paired with an obsession love spell once there's a thread to build on. I've written more about bringing someone back in my post on get your ex back spells, and about how spells work in general in Do Spells Really Work?
I think about Dana's first message sometimes, the way she apologized for writing too much. She was worried she was asking for something unfair. She wasn't. She was asking for the man she already had to show up the way he used to.
That's a reasonable thing to want.
